NICE 2008, 10th Anniversary
Conference:
- Excellence in action
NICE 2008 – excellence in action is NICE's 10th conference,
and April 2009 will mark our 10th anniversary. As we celebrate our
anniversary we will also be taking on board important new roles
following Lord Ara Darzi's review of the NHS, Our NHS, our future.
The conference will reflect on the impact of NICE over the past 10
years; it will also look at what the future holds under the new
arrangements described by Lord Darzi and how they will impact upon all
those working in the health services.
The conference will also discuss what has changed and what has been done
differently since we came into being. What have been the secrets of
success and what have we all learned from any missed opportunities? The
focus will be firmly on the practical, with a greater emphasis on case
studies of implementation in action alongside all the latest news and
views about the design, delivery and audit of NICE guidance.
NICE 2008: excellence in action will have something for everyone
interested in delivering greater excellence in clinical care and the
prevention of ill-health. While the plenary sessions will examine the
issues facing us all and showcase success across the board, streams, run
in association with a number of partners, will drill down and look at
what is working in public health, in audit and locally in implementation
at PCT, practice and trust level.
The shortlisted winners from the NICE Shared Learning Awards will
feature strongly in the programme, appearing on the plenary stage, in
workshops and in the Shared Learning area in the Exhibition.
And as ever there will be ample opportunities for networking and sharing
views and experiences with colleagues.
